About

We've been the person locked in the office trying to submit a variance report.

RentEvo isn't an idea someone had in a boardroom. It's the tool we wished existed when we were doing the work.

How it started

It started in an on-site office, after hours.

Most founder stories start with "I noticed a gap in the market." This one doesn't.

It started during a variance report. The call was the next morning. Notes half-written, the spreadsheet open in one tab, the PMS in another, the lease folder pulled out on the desk.

By the time the office went quiet it was after hours, the report still wasn't submitted, and the prep for the call still wasn't done. That happened every month. From what we've lived, putting one of those reports together runs four to six hours on a normal month and up to two days on a bad one, and the thing that sets the number is who you report to, not the property.

That's the moment we started building. Not a market opportunity. A workday that wouldn't end.

Who's behind it

Built by people who sat in the seat.

We're not a tech team that read about property management. We ran it: large institutional multifamily on one end, and a regional single-family and townhome book that grew from about a hundred doors to about a thousand on the other. Leasing, assistant manager, property manager, regional. Every person involved with RentEvo has lived the problem. None of us are guessing.

Institutional multifamily

The big portfolios, the big reporting chain.

Regional single-family

~100 to ~1,000 doors, scattered, spreadsheet-run.

On-site to regional

Leasing, assistant manager, property manager, regional.

Fee management

Buildings we didn't own, reporting to people who did.

What we're actually doing

Giving property managers their time back.

Not more software. Less hunting, less reconciling, less re-keying. Time to actually look at a budget instead of just reporting on it. Time to walk the property instead of being chained to the desk.

What we believe

The principles behind every decision.

We build for the chaos, not the demo.

If it doesn't survive a real on-site day, phones ringing, walk-ins, three people needing answers at once, it doesn't ship.

The point is to protect the manager, not replace them.

Their time, their judgment, their relationships. Less hunting, less reconciling, less context-switching, so they can look at a budget instead of just reporting on it.

Your data is yours. Full stop.

RentEvo reads from the systems you already run. It doesn't take ownership of your data, and it doesn't lock you in.

We don't fake it.

No demos on sandbox data dressed up as yours. When you see it, you see it on your real portfolio.
